Narida Hooper

Ngāruahine, Ngāti Porou

Narida is a Māori entrepreneur who is the owner-operator of He Putiputi Flora & Foliage based in Martinborough.  She has a varied background with experience including the wine industry and importings.  Narida is also a member of the Advisory Board for Timata Collaborations, a collective of wāhine Māori working in Māori education, research and Iwi Māori engagement. She is the Deputy Chair of the South Wairarapa District Council’s Māori Standing Committee and a member of Pae Tu Mokai o Tauira, a Featherston based group involved in the Wairarapa Moana Wetlands Project and other local environmental initiatives.

As the Deputy Chair for Te Matarau a Māui, Narida is a member of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee.  She has been a member of the WellingtonNZ Steering Group for the development of Wellington’s Regional Economic Development Plan and has attended meetings of the Wellington Regional Leadership Committee. She is a strong advocate for Māori SME’s regionally, is an active member of the Māori in Business Wairarapa network.
